the night before christmas

this is our last christmas as a family of 3 so it was quite perfect that it started off just us. there were no grand plans (which to me was the best part) so we decided to jump on a train and it took us downtown.



we shopped a few shops before having dinner and then made our way over to pioneer square.



after the big christmas tree we planned to see santa but little did we know he was already off on his sleigh so we jumped back on the train and headed home instead.

at home we lighted the christmas tree...


cozied up in front of the fireplace and watched "polar express".


(i know. we're missing a stocking. i guess i'll just have to buy 2 new ones for next year.)

just as the movie was ending our little party of 3 all of a sudden became a party of 5 because lolo and lola showed up on our doorstep! after a long 15 hour trip we quickly hurried them in out of the cold and were praising God they made it safe and sound.

cookies and milk were set out for another special guest who was to stop by in the middle of the night.


then, lola read one special story before all of us went to bed...
