a weekend in the snow

3 families with 5 boys under 5 all in 1 cabin for the 3 day weekend. we expected a crazy fun time but oh boy did we get much more.

friday night the 4 of us arrived at mt. hood and the party was in full force. the boys had already taken over the cabin running around like crazy while the parents were kicking back relaxing having a good time. after a couple of hours all 5 boys were down and the adults jumped in the hot tub for a nice night in the great outdoors.

after breakfast on saturday morning we all got bundled up to hit the mountain. at check in we were warned that high winds and strong rain were on the way. supposedly it was going to get worse as the day went on.

so, the adults decided to forgo their time up on the mountain and watch the boys at their private ski lesson instead. it turned out to work out just perfect. through both the bitter cold and rain the boys had an awesome time.

meanwhile, i got to cozy up in the lodge with this little one.

the rest of the weekend included some notorious weather which led to some interesting times. to make a long story short we ended up with no electricity and no water for the last night. while eating dinner by candlelight the house across the street went up in flames and 5 houses on the next street over were literally washed away. i told you. it was some crazy times. thankfully we all made it out safe and sound and now we have memories that will last a lifetime.
