a week before i was set to leave for phil’s graduation, i realized i
was gonna be away from my boys on mother’s day…all 3 of them. i don't know what i was thinking when i
booked my ticket. i guess it just
somehow slipped my mind. but now that i realized it i was feeling sad, really
sad. i never expected i would get so
emotional about a little holiday. it
kinda took me by surprise and after only a couple of hours of feeling this way i
got my butt into gear. after a phone
call to albert and a quick look at our frequent flyer miles, mateo’s ticket was
booked. he was coming with me! problem solved. that emptiness at the pit of my stomach
immediately went away and i was happy as could be. so i thought…. the very next day albert
bought 2 extra tickets which meant all 3 of them were coming! now, i was definitely happy as could be!
the best part of this story was that grandma and lola didn't know the
3 of them were coming. we decided to
keep it our little secret and it turned out to be the mother’s day surprise of
a lifetime. my mom even got a double
whammy. mateo surprised her at the
airport when she picked the two of us up.
then, shortly after eli and albert surprised her when we were simply “stopping
by” lola’s house. it was priceless
watching her almost pee in her pants two times in just one night.
mother's day surprise in full effect. at the airport...
and on the plane. almost there!
