Another Answered Prayer

A couple of months ago I wrote about the possibility of Mateo having surgery. We thought we dodged the bullet but to our dismay Little Pop couldn't shake his ear infections. They kept coming back and never went away. So, our pediatrician referred us to an ear and throat specialist and the ear and throat specialist recommended the surgery.

Today, 02.19.08, was the big day. We checked into pediatric admitting at Emmanuel Hospital 7:30 this morning. He was admitted, changed into his hospital gown and then played for just a little bit. At 8:15 he was given Tylenol and some kind of sedative. 8:30 he was transported to Pre-Op and we followed. With everything going on around him all Mateo wanted to do was read all the books he could possibliy get his hands on. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Then, slowly but surely the sedative started to kick in. He was still in a really good mood but started moving slower, talking slower, and even laughing slower. He was so mellow that we couldn't help but laugh because we rarely ever see him that chill. His eyes started getting droopy so we laid him back on his pillow.

At 8:45 the doctor and anesthesiologist came in and wisked Mateo away to the operating room. During the surgery, Papa and I waited in the waiting room. This is where I couldn't help but be nervous even though I knew God was in control. Papa, on the other hand, must have accidentally gotten a sip of Mateo's medicine because somehow someway he drifted off to a blissful slumber! 9:00 hit and the doctor walked in. He said, "Everything went well!"

God definitely answered another prayer today!

Yet we continue to have more prayer requests. We are praying for Jacob Luna who is currently in ICU for pneumonia. We pray that Gods heals him soon so that he can leave the hospital like Mateo did today. Please pray with us.
