this was the first time we ever took visitors to short sands. we packed a big cooler full of food and beer and hiked a mile down to the beach. i know it was a hassle with all the stuff but hopefully they thought it was worth it. i know i do. that was the best tasting roast beef sandwhich and chips i've ever had plus i guess you can't complain with this amazing view.

the boys had fun burying raymond and flying the kite.

meanwhile, papa surfed in the ice cold water. i still don't understand how he does it. mateo can barely put his feet in without running away screaming.

on saturday we went to multnomah falls.

we decided to trek all the way to the top. slowly but surely we went stopping to take pictures now and again. but i think it was more to catch our breath than anything else.

FINALLY...we made it!

i wish i would have know about this stream so we could have been more prepared. lucky for mateo he doesn't care about being in his "underwear".

then, it was time to make the trek back down.

after the falls we had lunch and were supposed to take quick naps before watching fireworks on the waterfront. but considering our naps lasted till 9pm we skipped the fireworks and watched twilight at home instead :)
thanks to our new jersey family for coming to visit. we loved having you here and hopefully we can make it out to the east coast sometime soon to visit with the rest of the family.
