hood 2 coast

they call it the "mother of all relays". the reason...it's the largest relay in the world. 197 miles. 12,000 runners. 2,000 vans. 1,000 teams all racing from the top of mt. hood to the oregon coast.

here's the van papa and his team lived in for the 15+ hours it took to run the race. they started bright and early friday morning and ended saturday afternoon.

papa ran the very first leg which is pretty hard on the knees since it's all downhill. but the funny thing is that i started getting calls and texts from people saying they saw a guy dribbling a basketball. is it albert? my answer...i'm not sure but i wouldn't be surprised. it sounds like something he'd do. sure enough we get to the coast and he was holding his trusty basketball. crazy guy!

anyone in for next year?
