saturday 05.23.09 we attended the morales/visitacion wedding. the ceremony took place at an absolutley breathtaking cathedral in the city of oakland.

the cathedral was so pretty but could have possibly had the world's longest aisle with such a formal feeling to top it off. so you can imagine how stressed the mother of the 2 1/2 year old ring bearer was.

shockingly, he slowly but surely walked down holding the pillow like we were practicing for a few days before. i did a double take thinking they switched mateo out at the last minute because i couldn't believe my eyes. but sure enough it was our little boy!
here is where marc and daisy became man and wife.

after the ceremony, the boy continued to suprise all of us because although a nap was well overdue he still had it in him to take picture after picture. this is when grandma deemed him "the best ring bearer in the whole world!"

sunday morning we endulged in the wedding brunch. it was so grand that papa literally said, "i just had breakfast, now i'm working on lunch, and next is dinner". it was seriously that grand! after stuffing our faces we moved hotels to be in the heart of the city and to start our list of toursity things to do. first up, the golden gate bridge. we kinda went picture happy. hehe.

and look who we found.

why does it seem like uncle juice and nannie lannie show up everywhere we go? because we ask them and they never say no :-)
after the bridge we made our way over to china town for some good authentic chinese grub.

we picked up this mr. frog beanie from a street vendor on our way over. it was such a good find uncle phil wanted one for too.

monday was yet another action packed day. we rode the cable car down to fishermans warf. at first mateo said, "i don't want to ride the trolley" in his most clear and serious tone. but when our turn was up he had a death grip on his ticket not wanting to miss the ride.

at fishermans warf we had clam chowder and then walked like world champion speed walkers to make it on time to board the boat to alcatraz. i've been wanting to go to alcatraz since the movie "the rock" came out. so, i as well as papa were both excited to finally go. the boy was excited too but it was more about the big white boat than anything else.

although grandma doesn't like this picture i had to put it in. i think it's so funny with his gangsta look going. i promise, i didn't tell him to do that.

tuesday we dropped uncle phil off at the airport and began our road trip down to so cal. we had a not so quick detour in santa cruz but i won't even go there.
that's pretty much our trip to san fran in a nutshell.
up next...the oc!
